Children

I am going to be a godmother in a matter of weeks (my cousin is full term now so it could be at any time).

But I’ve always felt that in order to truly live as a woman, you need to have children. A couple of days ago I came to the realization that I may never have a child for whatever reason, and usually a thought like that would make me cry.. but I’m good.

Obviously I would prefer to have a child (actually I would prefer about 5 children) but perhaps I was put on this earth to do something else. To be a leader, to be revolutionary, to change something. I don’t think that being a mother would prevent me from being revolutionary, but it would make it difficult.

Men often envy men who have no wife, no children and have obtained an incredible career. Women don’t envy (or I would argue, even appreciate) that, and maybe that’s why the feminist movement is not where it should be.
